Sekou (tha misfit) has performed privately for Oprah Winfrey, Maya Angelou, Norman Lear, P-Diddy, Quincy Jones, Al Gore and Coretta Scott King & family; and shared the stage with such artists as Jill Scott and the Black Eyed Peas. Publicly he has featured on ABC World News, Good Morning America, HBO, MTV, Showtime, BET, at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, and in major DVD releases such as “Battlegrounds” and “Belly.” Sekou has won the National Poetry Slam championship twice, has featured in two national poetry tours, and has 2 award-winning CDs for sale.
